Harry M. Ryan, 94, of rural Leavenworth, died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Lansing. He was born Jan. 3, 1918, in Leavenworth, the son of Harry T. and Elizabeth H. (Behne) Ryan.
On Nov. 22, 1942, he married, Ruth E. Means in Basehor, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by his children, Ed (Susan) Ryan of Hoyt, Kan., Ruth Ann (Mike Swindell) Ryan of Brentwood, Calif. and Harold (Mary) Ryan of Lansing; his grandchildren, Amanda (Dustan) Ridder, Michael (Audrey) Ryan, Joel (Kathryn) Ryan and Lane (Chelsea) Ryan; great-grandchildren, Emma Ryan, Megan Ryan and Nathanael Ryan; and his sister, Ida Jane Wacker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, D. Eugene Ryan, J.T. Ryan, Bill Ryan and Florence Klasinski.
Harry was a life-long dairy farmer and stockman. He served on the Fairmount Grade School board for several years and the Fairmount United Methodist Church board. He and Ruth were past members of several square dance clubs.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at McLouth Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Fairmount United Methodist Church.
