Glenn Evan Koele, 54, of Parkville, Mo., died Monday, April 25, 2011.
He was born Sept. 25, 1956, in Sheldon, Iowa the son of Harold and Muriel (Vande Garde) Koele.
On Sept. 11, 1995, he married Jung S. Yi in Waterloo, Iowa. She survives. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn (Robert) Spitznagel; his uncle, George Meendering; many cousins; and special friends, Dr. Roy Doorenbos, Missy Salmon and her family.
He graduated from the University of Nebraska in May of 1982. Glenn served in the U.S. Army for 10 years. After discharge he worked for the U.S. Postal Service.
Glenn will be remembered as a very talented, goal oriented person who could fix anything. He loved books and enjoyed his job at the Postal Service, as well at the time spent in the Army.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home, Leavenworth. Burial with military honors will follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
