Beverly Ann Franken, 76, of Leavenworth, passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. She was born the daughter of Laurence E. and Fleta M .(Larkin) Willmore on Oct. 3, 1935, in St. Joseph, Mo.
On Sept. 27, 1954, she married John P. Franken in Clarinda, Iowa. They were happily married for over 50 years until his passing on Jan. 11, 2005. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Keith Willmore.
Beverly was a member of the St. Joseph of the Valley Catholic Church in rural Leavenworth, Kan. She was especially active with the alter society there. She was also a member of the Springdale Homemakers Club. Besides raising six children, Bev worked for a number of years at the Hallmark Cards facility in Leavenworth. In later years she became a member of the Red Hat Society which she truly enjoyed. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen S. Silverwood and her husband, Allan, St. Louis; five sons and their wives, David P. and Paula Franken, Lenexa, Gregory L. and Peggy Franken, Wichita, William R. and Marie Franken, Shawnee, Laurence J. and Kim Franken, Kansas City, and Mark E. and Robyn Franken, Stilwell; sisters, Donna Reed, St. Joseph, Mo., Connie Reynolds, Faucett, Mo., and Deborah Minnis, Derby, Kan.; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Jan. 19,2012, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. The rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Joseph of the Valley Church, 31151 207th. St. Leavenworth, KS., with Rev. George Bertels as celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Mount Olivet Cemetery Fund or Kansas City Hospice.
